Currently we are in era 0.
Plans and goals for this era:
1.Bring sidechain testnet online.
2.Develop and deploy bots and contracts.
3.Facilitate the creation of tokens and dapps.
4.Build community and gather talent.
5.Have a user input period to sense the direction we should take if ASIC’s become a rampant problem.
6.Build our own custom block explorer and API endpoint.
7.OPAL desktop client application alpha out for testing and auditing.
Since our last weekly update we have had a lot of activity in the community. The team has released an update on our discord bot, made tremendous progress on the explorer and last but not least some good progress on the sidechain. A big thanks to one of our discord members MiniBabyWhale#0378 for the great image that Mcafee tweeted out. We feel that the twitter contribution has garnered exposure to EGEM, overall we did gain some growth in the community and in the end some new members were able to jump on the EGEM train. This was just the start of some great new EGEM images. ɃuzzkillɃ has been making alot of new gifs and images. They will be posted in our github meta https://github.com/TeamEGEM/meta. The team uploads majority of the images for EGEM and they are available for use to our community.
Over the past couple of weeks the team has been hard at work on the explorer. I know that most people will say what is taking so long on the explorer, well we are completely creating something new. The explorer will be a one place stop for a lot of functionality on the EGEM blockchain. Currently I can say that contract creation within explorer and token sending has been extremely successful.
Let's jump into the update on our community discord bot. We have updated the EGEM-bot. Our goal is to incorporate more mini games in the bot and get more user interaction. Right now the bot has two games that are currently live. You can interact with the bot and play a dice game with /roll and a number guessing game with /timetrial. Both games if you roll a high number or guess the number in the time frame you are rewarded with EGEM. The bot also sends Message of the day updates. This is only the start of the bot. Team EGEM also does make it rain occasionally with the bot. This sends out egem to everyone that is registered and online. The bot allows you to play the dice and timetrial game every 3 minutes. This is a great way to accumulate some EGEM for anyone in the community.
The sidechain is a completely original consensus program that will expand the peers on the EGEM chain by offering a dual mineable token (name yet to be released) and a new blockchain that is interwoven with the main chain in such a way that it complements and strengthens the original EGEM chain. This dual chain will offer unique capabilities to EGEM and tokens on the EGEM chain that increase functional capability and transaction time among other things. The project is based on an actual far reaching implementation that was launched in 2004 with a blockchain like structure (an algorithm) that worked at thousands of installation sites around the world on billions of dollars in assets. We have had some internal discussions are leaning toward a possible masternode/staking like capability. This is all currently in the think tank and nothing is finalized on this at the time. I can say that EGEM hodlers will be airdropped a proportionate amount of the sidechain token on launch.
This concludes the Weekly Egem update. Please feel free to join us!
