Others are working on a better script in the future.
Go to Vultr and get a VPS. https://www.vultr.com/?ref=7307426
First click the + to add a server.
Pick a location, choose ubuntu 16.04 and $5/month
Name the server hostname with something, doesnt matter.
Wait as Vultr installs Ubuntu.
Click your new server name and leave this screen up.
Download Putty, I use the 64-bit MSI installer.
Run Putty and input your IP address and give the saved Session a name. EGEM Tutorial, in this example.
Click Save and then Open.
Click Yes on the security alert.
Type root for login, and for password copy from Vultr panel and then left click in putty, and right click. Right click will paste the password. Password entry is shown as blank.
Now go to the Egem github.
Copy and paste this command into the window.
bash -c "$(wget -O - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/buzzkillb/EGEM-node-install/master/egemnode.sh)"
To make this easier we will install Egem Node with Swap File. Type 1 and push enter.
Let the installer do its thing, this takes more than a couple minutes. Updating Ubuntu, setting up fail2ban, firewall, and compiling the wallet.
You will be prompted for your Node Name and Contact Info. I will use TeamLambo (Tutorial) for Node Name and Buzz for contact.
The next screen will wait about 5 minutes to start syncing go-egem wallet before running network intelligence. Network intelligence is what sends the stats to https://network.egem.io/.
While waiting go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3167940.0 and https://www.reddit.com/r/egem/ and post something.
Then go to https://network.egem.io/ and wait for your node to pop up into the stats.
Once done, close Putty, and go into Egem Discord and say you added a node.
